XSane is a powerful frontend to access scanners which are supported
by an OS/2-Version of
SANE.
It was written by
Oliver Rauch and requires an
XServer
(for example
XFree86 for OS/2)
and a working
libsane.dll.
I have managed to build OS/2 - executables of XSane since version 0.78.
The latest version 0.992 now has been built using
GTK 2 and works as plugin for
Gimp 2.2.8.
It also works standalone (but you'll still need Gimp 2.2.8 installed because of all the dlls
it depends on).
It has some nice new features for example it supports scan -> pdf.
The drawback is, it won't work with earlier versions of GTK / GIMP.
Version 0.96 works with GTK 1.2 and GIMP 1.22.
